When Jenny is sad she prefers to sleep off her depression, and it always works. When I feel low, I have a lot of chocolates. And it works too! I am pretty much sure all of us know what the things are that make us feel good, crappy, and the like. We can say this about ourselves because we know who we are. This is also the first step of choosing the right makeup.
No matter what the tips or best-kept secrets for that fabulous and gorgeous looks are, it all begins with identifying what you would want to wear, what makes you comfortable, and how much makeup you can ‘handle’.
There are loads of people who prefer to go natural and others who just can’t turn away from another new eye shadow. Whatever it is you want, never losing sight of the personal reference is most essentially the first basic step. Once you know this, you are well on your way to choose the right makeup.
Even before you try to hunt down the right shade, try to find out the right formula. This again depends upon your skin type. If you have a dry skin, try using liquid, stick, or hydrating powder foundation. If your skin is oily go for oil-free liquid or powder foundation. If you have a combination skin, you may have to apply it with a little bit of strategy. This means, you have to use powder foundation more on the oily areas and less on the drier parts.
Powder foundation is easier to apply, so if you are a beginner, try using the one that is correct for your skin type.
Once you know which formula will work best for your skin type, choose the right shade. The trick is to choose a shade that is closest to the shade of your skin. You may even want to consult a professional for the first time so that you feel more confident about your choice.
Eye shadow:
Choosing the right eye shadow may be much more than picking a shade that suits your eye color. You should always apply something that is best for the time of the day, the look you want to flaunt, your facial features, and the occasion. For instance, a glittery eye shadow may be perfect on a night-out, but when you are at work, you may want to go for the more muted and neutral colors. Another important thing is to always use shades that complement each other. This means, if you want to apply more than one shade choose colors that blend well with one another.
Tip:
Use light eye colors to highlight an area and make it look larger. Darker colors on the other hand make an area look smaller. Keep this simple principle in mind while applying eye shadow. Use lighter and shimmery shades in a controlled way if you have dry or wrinkly eyelids. You may instead reserve these to highlight your brow bone.
Lip Color:
When applying color to your lips you should always take into consideration such other factors as the time, occasion, your dress, and the total effect you want to create. Look at the bigger picture, that’s the first rule. However, even before actually applying the lip color you need to buy one. Often the simple trick is to buy a color that is one or two shades darker than your natural lip color. Even if you have a color that you don’t like much, keep it in stock. Blend it with other colors and you may simply be amazed by the effect you create.
Tip:
It is always best to highlight either the eyes or the lips. Doing both may make you look overdone.
As I said before, the most important thing is to know what you want. Pair it up with a little bit of makeup tips and you are all set to steal the show!
