Three Natural Beauty Ingredients To Carry In Your Travel Bag

This article was written by Tania Bhattacharya on behalf of Sherley Altidor.

When you have a job that keeps you thousands of feet off the ground on most days, going natural could be quite a challenge. After all, you cannot afford to pack your kitchen inside your suitcase! And, treating yourself to some homemade natural beauty treatments while on the go doesn’t sound convenient.

But let me assure you, it is easier than you may imagine.

Skincare on the go

Thankfully, there are simple beauty recipes that you can follow when traveling. Carry small amounts of the ingredients, just enough to last you on your trip, in bottles or Ziplocs, and you will be good. Let’s begin.

Gram flour:

Carry this miracle cleanser in a Ziploc wherever you go. Simply mix a little water to one teaspoon of gram flour to make a smooth paste. Apply this on your face, wait for some time, and wash it off with water. You can instantly get a clear, oil-and-grime free skin. Depending upon your skin type, this mixture may leave behind a dry feeling. Simply replace the water with a few drops of milk for a smooth and soft skin. When you are back home, you can build upon this face cleanser. Add yogurt and lemon juice to gram flour for a well-nourished skin. You can use it every day not only on your face but also on your whole body.

Rosewater:

Did you know that the legendary beauty queen Cleopatra used rosewater in her beauty regime? The next time you pack for a vacation, remember to tuck in a small bottle of this ‘magic water’ inside your travel bag. It cleanses and tones your skin and keeps it hydrated for hours. You can pour a few drops on a cotton ball and cleanse your face to instantly add a fresh glow. Alternatively, spray it on your face for a fresh feeling. Want to treat tired jetlagged eyes? Soak cotton pads in chilled rosewater and put them on your eyes. Rest for some time and you will be surprised to see all the redness gone! Last but not the least, pour a few drops of rosewater on your pillow to beat stress and sleep better.

Below is the rose water that I use on a daily basis…….I love this stuff!

Coconut oil:

Apart from reducing wrinkles and preventing premature aging, coconut oil is also an excellent makeup remover. Yes, you read that right. In fact, you can use it to remove even the waterproof mascara. Simply pour a few drops on a cotton pad and wipe away. Use it to moisturize your whole body and enjoy a flawless skin, naturally. Focus on elbows and knees since they are prone to become dry. You can also massage your scalp with coconut oil before shampooing your hair.

Sticking to an all-natural beauty routine isn’t that difficult after all, even when you are away from home. Remember to carry these wonder ingredients the next time you travel. Let me know if you have some cool beauty-on-the-go tips up your sleeves.
